Let's build your pyro skills in this online Woodburning Fine Lines and Curves Skillbuilder! We're going to work on our linework and fine details.

We're going to look at how to achieve fine linework and details through my own woodburning techniques while growing your pyro skills and tapping into your creativity.

This will be helpful for those who want to expand their Pyro Toolbox skills, those who want to try new things with guidance, and those who want fresh new ideas and inspo to jazz up their art.

This class is NOT about learning the basics of woodburning. This is a Skillbuilder where we are focusing on ONE specific skill, and this time it's fine linework.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You want to learn how to get those super fine lines
  • You want someone to teach you the basics of adding details
  • You want guidance on how to use fine lines in your work and where to add them in your pieces
  • You want fresh inspiration and new ideas you can carry into your own art practice
  • You want to try something new!
What do you need for this class?

  1. BYOB- Bring Your Own Burner

Renée Foskett Wilson, Pyrographer + Art Educator

HEYO!

I'm Renée- a fun and silly mixed-media pyrography artist, art educator, and small business entrepreneur.

I'm here to teach you no-fluff, high-touch, in-depth workshops that take you through the nitty-gritty details in an authentic way to help you explore, learn, and grow as an artist.

I teach as if we're sitting together and having a conversation. I keep it raw and real. No gatekeeping. No secrets. If I don't know the answer then I'll help you find the answer.

Subjects and topics are approachable, easy to understand, juicy, and specific. We go step by step, building block by building block. I make jokes and TikTok references and laugh and make learning fun.

I deliver information that actually answers your questions.

So jump on in. I'd love to lead you through this woodburning workshop, step by step.

Specifics About This Skillbuilder:

1: We're going to practice getting those fine lines you love.

I know you want to know exactly how I get my fine lines and little details. I'm going to teach you how I do mine and show you ways you can do them too.

2: We're growing your linework skills.

Linework can make or break a piece, in my opinion. Having nice, crispy lines can add beautiful depth and dimension to your subject matter. It can also bring a totally different feeling or vibe to your art. Who knows, you might discover a new style for yourself!

3: We're going to be using a blade-like nib.

You don't need anything fancy, but you do need something with a sharp crisp edge. Bring your slickest nib(s). I will be using my Large Skew nib, as usual.

4: You'll learn about my own linework style.

Remember, there is no right or wrong way to make art. Just because I'm teaching a Skillbuilder on how to make lines and details doesn't mean this is the ONLY way to make lines and details. I'm going to share my favorite linework techniques and you'll get a glimpse into how my mind works when it comes to lines and details.
